TNR Assistance Requests Are Currently Paused

Thank you for caring about the community cats in your neighborhood. Due to overwhelming demand, our volunteer TNR team is currently filled to capacity and cannot accept new assistance requests or add names to our waiting list.

We are continuing to serve the neighborhoods already on our schedule. We will announce on our website, Facebook, and Instagram when we are able to accept new requests.

What You Can Do Now

  • Sick or injured cat: Contact VCA Bakersfield Animal Hospital at 661-327-4444 or Animal Emergency & Urgent Care at 661-322-6019. Please call first.

  • Found kittens: If they are warm, clean, quiet, and safe, watch from a distance for several hours. Their mother may be nearby.

  • Need affordable spay/neuter services: Visit our Low-Cost Clinics and Support page.

  • Want to help us serve more neighborhoods: Consider volunteering, donating, or purchasing needed supplies from our Amazon Wish List.

  • Want availability updates: Follow The Whisker Project of Kern on Facebook and Instagram.

The Whisker Project does not have a shelter and cannot accept surrendered cats or kittens or provide emergency veterinary care.
